9th Week developments:
The week of Job!
This week has been really amazing and I have had such an intellectual and inspiring teacher who has seriously challenged and brought new insight into my understanding for the book of Job. I have been blown away by the teaching and also the fact that I understood it, but I have totally seen a new perspective for how I should think and understand suffering.
I actually think now that Job is one of my favourite books.
I don't fully understand all of the content yet, but it is so beautifully written; the wisdom literature used is so beautiful and the imagery is so provocative and emotive... it is magical. There is also a harshness to it, but the poetic nature of the text allows emotions to run through and allowed me to grasp a new and different view and understanding than I have ever had on this before.
I am so excited about what God has been showing me through this school!
I have also had a realisation this week that I have...
The BEST work duty EVER!!!!!
I don't think I have ever written about the work duties that I have been completing whilst here... but I have been in hospitality (as well as writing this journal). This mostly consists of assisting a really wonderful woman with turning rooms round, making sure that guests have enough of what they need and making sure that the rooms are in good working order. Within this work duty, I have been able to help with BAKING!!!! I love this and have enjoyed spending time with an SBS student and have discovered that I cannot bake without getting dough ALL OVER MYSELF! No matter whether we do a small thing or bake a lot of cakes, I always seem to get dough and/or icing all up my arms, on my clothes and on my face! :) I absolutely love it.
The January DTS have arrived back on base from completing their outreach to Thailand and so the base is really busy at the moment. It is going to be a fun few days with lots of stories about what they have been doing, ministries they have been a part of and how they have managed; it is going to be wonderful. There is a great busy-ness and buzz around the base now... I love it!
I only have three weeks left on this course and then it will be onto new things... which I am still in consultation with God about... well, when I say consultation, I mean he tells me, I argue a bit and then eventually do it. :) It is very much fun though and I am so excited for what God is going to say to me and where He is going to lead me next! I love this journey... this school... GOD!
