‘Amasing Grace’

So this week we studied Deuteronomy. I really enjoyed it. It's amasing to see that God's grace is so present in the Old Testament. His love for his people is unique. They didn't do anything to receive his love. He chose them! Not because of their righteousness, not because they were great, but because He LOVES them. And his expectations on them are light and easy, as it is said in chap.30v.11:"For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is to far off". All he wants is them to love him with all their heart, might and soul. It's really a revelation for me to descover God's grace in the law. He chose us, loves us and just want us to love him back.
It's a blessing to study the law, to see how God cares for us, for the environment, health, hygiene, security, money, food, relationship, covenant. He is faithful to bless but are we faithful to obey? What is our response to his love, to his blessing? And why do we obey? What are our motivations? Is it out of fear or out of love? It's all a matter of the heart.
Yes, what I want from SBS is tranformation of my heart. I want to obey him because he touched my heart, because he showed me grace, because he revealed his love to me. I want to respond him with love because He is WORTHY.
