Is improving your English skills the next step for your ministry among the nations? Be part of our exciting training course and learn English in the heart of England!
English has become the global means of communication, and this course is specifically designed to help you fulfil your calling and use your gifts in missions today. Our vision is to help you break down the language barrier and communicate with confidence. You will learn to worship, pray, read the Bible, lead a devotion, and give your testimony in English. You will also have specific lessons designed to help you understand more about cultures and how to testimony to people in cultures different than yours. Our grammar and vocabulary lessons focus on helping you reach the nations and connect with people though English. We want to see trainees released into further training and into the nations that God has placed on your heart.
The King’s Lodge is a lively, friendly base in the centre of England, the home of the English language. We aim to provide an ideal environment for immersion in your new language through classes, small groups, social times and every day interaction with base trainees and staff, as well as in outreach opportunities and contact with the local community.
The course curriculum includes a balance of speaking, listening, reading and writing, with a focus on conversational English. Classes are fun and interactive. We use discussion, games, articles, videos, music, pictures, stories and drama alongside text books and resources tailored to your level of English. We also go on trips with the goal of helping you to have contact and understand more about English culture. You will have opportunities to practise your growing language skills on campus and in the local community, on trips, at church and during the outreach.
The English for Missions school several outreach opportunities , from regular contact with local ministry and churches as well as a 2-week period of outreach in the last month of the school with the goal of connecting with and blessing people in England. The outreach location will be announced at the beginning of the school.
